A Wealth of Musical Experiences

A Wealth of Musical Experiences

Musical Experiences

The funding provided by The Jean Freedman Foundation has enabled the pupils of Oakfield Primary School to participate in a wealth of musical experiences throughout their exciting and engaging curriculum.

Every pupil in school now has the opportunity to learn to play at least five instruments before they leave in Year 6.

A Varied Curriculum

Year One pupils focus heavily on rhythm work and use the Bamboo Tamboo to aid this. Year Two learn to play the Ocarina, transferring their knowledge and skill to the recorders in Year Three. Pupil in Year 4 enjoy djembe drumming and Years 5 and 6 enjoy playing the ukulele, building on knowledge from previous years.

Enjoyment for Pupils and Staff

Pupils and staff have thoroughly enjoyed the launch of our new curriculum this year, and are looking forward to developing this further. We are extremely grateful to The Jean Freedman Music Foundation for making all of this possible.
