Varied and Exciting Music Curriculum

The Jean Freedman Music Foundation funding has ensured that St Peter and St Paul CE Primary School is able to give a varied and exciting music curriculum. All our children from Year 2 to Year 6 can now experience the fun of playing in an ensemble and gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed and excel in music.

Here we have year 3 children playing their recorders.

They told us these things:

“It is fun and I like learning a new skill” Kaie

“Recorders are great as you learn new tunes and then you can play them at home with mum” Tristan

“I have never played a recorder before and I like learning new things”

Samba Equipment

The samba equipment we bought to use in Year 4 and 5 has been a huge success. All the children love being able to play an instrument.

“Samba is fun as normally you have to be quiet in class and with Samba you can make really loud noises” Phoebe

“It helps me with my learning and my memory gets better learning the rhythm patterns” Rio

“You get to play all the different instruments, not just one and experience all the different sounds” Erin

Future Plans

We even had plans to enter the Scunthorpe Music Festival this year, but unfortunately due to Covid-19 the festival was cancelled.

All this would not have been possible without the funding from the Jean Freedman Foundation and we have plans for entering all these groups next year.
