Visit to Bridlington Priory Church to see two, three and four year olds singing!!!

Yesterday morning I was invited to Bridlington Priory Church to be a guest of Bridlington Nursery School (one of the Jean Freedman Music Foundation members) to watch and listen to 30+ two, three and four year olds singing some songs that they have been learning to their parents, carers and other members of the community.

Bridlington Priory Church is a beautiful church with a huge stained glass window and a extremely high roof above the Nave.  The little nursery children were definitely tiny compared to their surroundings but they made up for that by their presence!!

In fact, Mrs Claire White, the headteacher of all 4 East Riding Nurseries which include Bridlington, commented in her introduction that ‘It is like all of you are on Bridlington’s Got Talent!!’

She went on to welcome everyone including me as the representative of The Jean Freedman Music Foundation. She thanked the Foundation for the support and funding that they have provided the Nursery to enable them to really make a difference to the children’s musical experiences.

It was lovely seeing children so young singing, waving their hands and smiling. All the staff and volunteers, along with members of the audience, joined in the singing and waving. A fun time was had by all.

As a Trustee I am looking forward to visiting Bridlington Nursery again in the near future with some other trustees / members of the JFMF team.
