Impact Report from Frederick Gough School

The funding we received from the Jean Freedman Music Foundation has been amazing and has enabled the music department to have a lightweight bass amp for our senior band. In July we took our senior band on a trip to Belgium to perform three concerts, the amp was compact, lightweight and had a great sound. It is also used every week for senior band rehearsals and jazz band and in all of our concert.

Through the funding we could also purchase a Shime Daiko drum for our Taiko drumming group. This was used in our summer concert, where we performed to 250 people. Our y8's have made good use of the djembe drums.  We could also purchase in their African Drumming scheme of work. Our training band has over 60 instrumentalists and we were getting very short of quality music stands. The Jean Freedman Foundation also helped us to purchase more stands. Thank you so much for your help, it has enabled our musicians to continue to make music every day at Frederick Gough School.
